Our first training and networking opportunity of our new 2013-2014 year will be
Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at The Radisson Hotel Roseville. Our scheduled
speakers are Ms. Inge Sebyan Black, CPP, CFE, and Mark Lanterman, Chief Technology Officer of Computer Forensic Services.

Inge's presentation will be "The Art of Investigative Interviewing", which can be used by anyone who is involved in investigative interviewing. It is a perfect combination of real, practical, and effective techniques, procedures, and actual cases. Learn key elements of investigative interviewing, such as human psychology, proper interview preparation, tactical concepts, controlling the interview environment, and evaluating the evidence obtained from the interview.

Inge is the Minnesota Manager for Apollo International. Inge has been a licensed Private Investigator in MN for more than 20 years, although her investigative career started in 1977. She has also held her PI license in Quebec and Ontario Canada. She holds her BA in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement, both from Metro State University in St. Paul, MN. In 1995, Inge earned her CPP (Certified Protection Professional) and CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner). Inge has handled Investigations involving internal fraud, external fraud, assault, auto theft, embezzlement, health care fraud and sexual assault. She has worked for many attorneys handling private cases as well as being a corporate investigator for fortune 500 companies, including managing an SIU (Special Investigation Unit) with UHG (United Health) and Sr. Loss Prevention Manager for JCP.  Inge is currently the Chair for ASIS International Crime Prevention/Loss Prevention Council. Mark presentation is titled "The Impact of Digital Evidence". The session will explore how computers have dramatically changed the way companies and their clients do business and how cases are investigated and litigated. In this session, Mark Lanterman discusses what the pervasive use of computers means to prosecutors, investigators and their "clients." Mark covers such topics as an overview of the benefits of and the burdens imposed by electronic evidence, how information can be recovered from computers even though it has been "deleted", and he will discuss options for presenting electronic information. He will also cover non-traditional evidence sources, such as the iPhone, iPad and social media.

Mark is the Chief Technology Officer of Computer Forensic Services. Before entering the private sector, Mark spent 11 years as a police investigator and as a member of the U. S. Secret Service Electronic Crimes Taskforce. He has routinely assisted the Secret Service, FBI and the U. S. Attorney's Office as well as hundreds of law firms and corporations with computer related investigations. Mark was recognized by the Director of the U. S. Secret Service for his contributions to law enforcement.  Mark has worked on several high profile cases, including the Wisconsin political redistricting litigation (Baldus v Wisconsin), the Intoxilyzer source code analysis, the Polaroid bankruptcy and the Paul McCartney divorce.  Lanterman has been a court appointed computer forensic expert to the Honorable Michael J. Davis, Chief Judge and the Honorable Tony Leung, Magistrate Judge, United States District Court.
